Bringing international GPs to Australian general practice
Health Pro Recruitment recruits general practitioners from the UK, Ireland, the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Hong Kong to work in Australia. Unlike many agencies, it employs doctors directly, placing them at Smith Street Medical Centre in Charlestown, New South Wales.
It supports doctors through the whole move: registration with AHPRA, the right assessment pathway, visa sponsorship and relocation, so international GPs can focus on starting practice in Australia.
Where Health Pro’s doctors come from
Why Health Pro Recruitment came to us
An overseas GP considering Australia has dozens of questions before they ever speak to a recruiter: which pathway applies to them, what the Australian Medical Council requires, how long registration takes and what they will earn. Health Pro needed to be the source that answered them.
Every country has a different pathway
A GP trained in Ireland faces a different route to Australian registration than one trained in Canada or Hong Kong. Generic content could not answer doctors’ real questions.
Competing with large recruitment agencies
Established medical recruitment agencies dominate searches for GP jobs in Australia.
Doctors research for months
The decision to move countries is slow and careful, so Health Pro needed to be present throughout that research.
Accuracy matters
Content about registration, assessment and visas must be precise and current, or it loses doctors’ trust.
What we did for Health Pro Recruitment
Since 2025 we have run Health Pro Recruitment’s content and search, built around the questions international GPs ask before moving to Australia.
