Chapter 01
Social media marketing in Nepal: most of it is posting, very little of it is marketing
Walk into most social media accounts run by small Nepali businesses and you will see a familiar pattern: a festival greeting, a product photo, a repost from a supplier, posted whenever someone remembers to, with no caption strategy, no consistent visual identity, and no idea whether any of it is actually driving sales. That is social media presence. It is not social media marketing.
A social media marketing agency in Nepal does three things a business owner posting occasionally cannot: it plans content around what your specific audience actually engages with (not what looks nice), it runs paid advertising with real targeting and conversion tracking instead of the boost button, and it treats every platform, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, differently, because a Reel that performs on Instagram and a TikTok that performs on TikTok are built on different logic, not the same video re-uploaded three times.
As a social media marketing agency, we manage Facebook and Instagram content and advertising, TikTok content (and TikTok ads for clients outside Nepal, more on why below), influencer partnerships, and white label social media delivery for other agencies. Each of those is its own page on this site because each is genuinely a different skill, not a checkbox on one generic package.

Chapter 02
The Facebook boost button is not advertising, and that difference costs businesses money
Ask ten small business owners in Nepal how they advertise on Facebook and most will describe the same thing: tap the blue Boost Post button under a photo, pick a budget, pick a rough audience, and let it run. Locally this is often called doing a Facebook boost, and it has become the default definition of Facebook advertising for a lot of businesses. It is not the same thing, and the gap matters.
Boosting a post optimizes for one thing, engagement on that specific post, likes, comments, shares. It uses a simplified version of Meta’s ad system with limited targeting options and no access to the conversion-optimized delivery that real campaigns use. A properly built Meta advertising campaign, run through Meta Ads Manager, optimizes for an actual business outcome, a purchase, a lead form submission, a WhatsApp message, a call, and it can retarget people who already visited your website or added something to a cart. Boosting cannot do any of that.
We are not a Facebook booster agency. We are a Meta advertising agency, which means every campaign we run for a client is built around a real objective, real tracking through the Conversions API, and real audience segmentation across Facebook and Instagram together. If a client’s current spend is entirely boosted posts, the first conversation we have is showing them, side by side, what the same rupees would do inside a properly structured campaign.
Chapter 03
Organic content, paid advertising, and influencer marketing are three different budgets, not one
One more confusion we clear up early: organic posting, paid Meta advertising, and influencer partnerships are not interchangeable, and a single monthly fee that vaguely covers “social media” without separating them usually means one of the three is being neglected. Organic content builds a following and keeps an existing audience engaged, it rarely drives new customers at scale on its own anymore because reach on unpaid posts has dropped steadily across Facebook and Instagram for years. Paid advertising is what actually puts your brand in front of people who do not already follow you, and it needs its own ad spend budget, separate from our management fee. Influencer marketing borrows someone else’s existing trust with an audience, which works differently again, and is priced per campaign, not folded into a flat monthly retainer.
Because these are genuinely different disciplines, our packages below separate content and management from ad spend and from influencer campaign budgets, rather than bundling everything into one number that hides where your money is actually going.

Chapter 04
What a Kathmandu-based social media marketing agency actually does month to month
Strategy first: we look at who your existing customers actually are, not who a business owner assumes they are, and build a content calendar and posting cadence around that. Production next, photography, short-form video, graphic templates, captions written in a voice that matches your brand rather than generic stock captions. Then community management, responding to comments and messages within hours, not days, because a slow reply on a public comment is a lost sale watched by everyone else scrolling past it. And reporting that shows reach, engagement, and, where advertising is involved, actual cost per lead or cost per sale, not just a vanity follower count.
Organic posting vs. Facebook boost vs. real Meta advertising
| Factor | Organic Posting | Facebook Boost | Meta Advertising |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reaches new people | Rarely | Sometimes, limited | Yes, by design |
| Conversion tracking | No | No | Yes, via Conversions API |
| Retargeting website visitors | No | No | Yes |
| Audience targeting depth | None | Basic | Full Ads Manager targeting |
| Best for | Keeping existing followers engaged | Nothing we would recommend | Leads, sales, growth |
Our Approach
The 3-Pillar Social Media Marketing Framework we run every account on
Every platform, every client, the same three pillars, adjusted for what that business and audience actually need.
- Content that fits the platform, not one video re-uploaded everywhere : A Reel, a TikTok, and a Facebook post are not the same content wearing different hats. We plan and produce for each platform's actual audience behaviour.
- Advertising built on tracked outcomes, not boosted engagement : When paid media is part of the plan, it runs through proper Ads Manager campaigns with conversion tracking, never the boost button.
- Reporting tied to business results : Monthly reporting shows reach and engagement alongside leads, messages, or sales generated, so you can see what the work actually produced.

Why social media pricing in Nepal looks so inconsistent
Search around and you will see social media management quoted anywhere from a few thousand rupees a month to well over a lakh, and the confusion is not agencies being dishonest, it is that “social media management” means wildly different scopes of work. A single-platform, low-production-effort package for a small shop is genuinely a different job than a multi-platform account with weekly video production, paid campaigns, and influencer coordination for a growing brand. Price should follow scope, not the other way around.
We priced our packages below against what similar-scope agencies in Nepal typically charge, and kept them toward the lower end of that range deliberately, this is a volume-and-relationship business, not a one-off project like a website build.
Chapter 06
Content production: what actually goes into a monthly batch
A content calendar is not just a spreadsheet of dates. Each entry needs a concept, a shot list or script, production (photography or short-form video filming and editing), copywriting, and a posting schedule tuned to when your specific audience is actually online, which we check against your account’s own analytics rather than assuming a generic best time to post.
For product-based businesses we plan around inventory and promotions. For service businesses we plan around proof, testimonials, before-and-afters, process content that builds trust before someone books. The mix shifts by industry, a restaurant’s calendar looks nothing like a law firm’s, and it should not.
Chapter 07
Community management is a sales channel, not an afterthought
Comments and DMs on a business Facebook or Instagram page are frequently the first, and sometimes only, point of contact before a purchase decision in Nepal, people ask about price, availability, and delivery in the comments rather than visiting a website. A page that replies within an hour converts differently than one that replies the next day, or not at all. We treat inbox and comment response time as a tracked metric, not a courtesy.
Which platform fits which kind of business
| Business Type | Primary Platform | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurants, cafes, retail | Instagram + TikTok | Visual product, discovery-driven audience |
| Professional services (law, clinics, consultancies) | Facebook + LinkedIn-adjacent content | Trust-building, older decision-maker audience |
| Fashion, beauty, lifestyle brands | Instagram + influencer partnerships | Visual, aspirational, influencer-trusted category |
| B2B and agencies | Facebook + white label delivery for partners | Relationship-driven, longer sales cycle |

Ad spend and management fees are separate, always
If an agency quotes you one number that supposedly covers both running your ads and the ad spend itself, ask exactly how that number splits, because the two need to be separate for the arrangement to make sense. Ad spend is money Meta or TikTok keeps, for showing your ads to people. Management fee is what you pay us for strategy, setup, creative, and ongoing optimization. We never take a percentage of your ad spend as our fee, a flat monthly management fee means we have no incentive to spend your budget faster or slower than what actually performs.
Chapter 09
What we ask for before we start
Admin access to your existing Facebook Page and Instagram Business account (or help setting these up correctly if they do not exist yet, a surprising number of small business Instagram accounts in Nepal are still personal profiles, not Business accounts, which limits what can be tracked and advertised). Any existing brand assets, logo, product photos, past campaign results if you have run ads before. And honestly, a conversation about who you think your customer is, which we then check against what your account’s existing analytics actually say, the two do not always match.
Chapter 10
How we measure whether social media is actually working
Follower count is the easiest number to look at and the least useful one for deciding whether a business is getting its money’s worth. We report on reach (how many people actually saw content), engagement rate (not raw likes, but likes and comments relative to reach, which tells you if content is resonating or just being seen), and, wherever a business goal allows it, tracked outcomes, form submissions, WhatsApp or Messenger conversations started, or ecommerce purchases attributed back to a specific post or ad.
Chapter 11
Working with businesses that have never advertised online before
A large share of our social media clients are running paid advertising for the first time. That changes how we onboard them, we spend the first month largely on setup done right, Meta Business Manager structure, Conversions API implementation, pixel or app event tracking, before spending meaningfully on ads. Rushing straight to campaigns on top of broken tracking means we would be optimizing against bad data, and neither of us would actually know what is working.
This is also why our first-month pricing sometimes looks lighter on visible ad activity than a client expects, the setup work does not show up as posts or ads, but skipping it is the single most common reason social media advertising fails to show results for small businesses.
Chapter 12
When we would tell a client not to advertise yet
Occasionally the honest answer is to wait. If a business has no consistent product photography, no reviews or social proof yet, or a website that cannot actually receive and convert traffic, sending paid ad clicks there wastes budget on a broken funnel. In those cases we say so directly and start with organic content and basic proof-building first, even though that means a smaller invoice for us in month one.
Organic-only vs. organic + paid social media programme
| Factor | Organic Only | Organic + Paid |
|---|---|---|
| New customer reach | Limited to existing followers and their shares | Targeted reach beyond your follower base |
| Speed to results | Slow, builds over months | Faster, but needs tracking set up correctly first |
| Budget needed | Management fee only | Management fee plus separate ad spend |
| Best suited to | Brand building, community, retention | Lead generation, sales, launches |
Chapter 13
Seasonal and festival content, done without it feeling generic
Dashain, Tihar, Teej, New Year, these are genuine engagement spikes on Nepali social media, and also the moment every brand posts nearly identical greeting graphics. We plan festival content to tie back to an actual product or offer, not just a template greeting, because a generic Happy Dashain post competing against fifty others in someone’s feed does very little, while a festival-tied promotion with a clear reason to act does considerably more.
Restaurants & Cafes
Visual-first content, Instagram and TikTok discovery, and location-targeted advertising for footfall.
Retail & Ecommerce
Product-led content, catalogue-linked ads, and influencer seeding for launches.
Real Estate
Property showcase video content and lead-generation advertising with proper form tracking.
Education & Consultancies
Trust-building content and lead-gen campaigns for admissions and enrolment cycles.
Beauty & Wellness
Influencer-led credibility content paired with location-targeted booking campaigns.
Hospitality & Tourism
Destination and experience content built for international as well as domestic audiences.
Chapter 14
Reporting you can actually read
Monthly reports cover what changed and why, not a raw export of every metric a platform tracks. If engagement dropped one month, we say what we think caused it and what we are changing, an algorithm shift, a content type that underperformed, a competitor promotion. If it grew, we say what worked so we can repeat it deliberately rather than by accident.

We would rather tell a client their budget is too small for four platforms than take the money and spread it too thin to work. That conversation costs us a bigger invoice sometimes, and it is the right one to have.

How our packages below are structured
Each tier below covers content, community management, and reporting. Paid Meta advertising management is an add-on to any tier, ad spend itself is always separate and goes directly to Meta or TikTok. Influencer campaigns are quoted per campaign, not included in monthly retainers, since budgets vary too much by influencer tier to fold into a flat number.

Chapter 17
Where social media fits alongside your other marketing
Social media rarely works in isolation. It feeds a website that needs to convert once someone clicks through, which is why we also run SEO and PPC. If your Instagram is driving traffic to a slow, outdated website, the social media spend is doing its job while the website undoes it. We flag that cross-channel gap when we see it, even on a social-only engagement.

A Kathmandu-based social media marketing agency, working across Nepal
We are based in Kathmandu and most of our team is here, but the businesses we run social media for are spread across Nepal, and increasingly a few clients outside it too, particularly for TikTok advertising, which we cover in detail on the TikTok services page. Wherever you are based, the work is the same: strategy first, honest recommendations, and pricing that matches the scope of what we are actually doing.
Genuine social media management in Nepal typically runs NPR 15,000 to 40,000+ a month depending on platform count, content volume, and whether paid advertising management is included, with ad spend itself always separate. Our packages start at NPR 18,000/month for a single-platform content programme and scale to a custom quote for multi-platform, video-heavy accounts with influencer coordination. Anyone quoting a flat few thousand rupees for full-service social media including advertising is either not including real paid media, or not doing much beyond scheduling generic posts.
No. Boosting a post is a simplified promotion tool optimized for engagement on that one post, with limited targeting and no conversion tracking. Real Meta advertising runs through Ads Manager, is built around an actual business outcome like leads or sales, uses the Conversions API for tracking, and can retarget people who already showed interest. We manage real Meta advertising campaigns, not boosted posts.
Yes. We are based in Kathmandu but manage social media accounts for businesses across Nepal, since almost all of the work, content planning, ad management, community response, happens remotely regardless of where a business is physically located.
TikTok’s Ads Manager is not available for accounts based in Nepal, so we cannot run paid TikTok advertising for Nepal-based businesses at this time. We do offer full TikTok content management for Nepali brands, and TikTok advertising for our clients based in the Middle East, Europe, and the Americas. See our TikTok services page for the full explanation.
No. We charge a flat monthly management fee regardless of how much you spend on ads. Your ad budget goes entirely to Meta or TikTok, we have no financial incentive to inflate it.
